These styles, Yoga through Breathing, Yoga through Postures, and Yoga through Meditation, harmoniously blend to offer a holistic experience of mind-body-soul rejuvenation.
Yoga through Breathing, often referred to as Hatha yoga, takes center stage in our retreat. Here, we emphasize the profound art of breath control, known as pranayama. Through techniques like Kapalbhati, Anulom Vilom, Brahmri, and more, our participants learn to harness the power of breath to find inner calm and vitality. It serves as a foundation, preparing our yogis for the deeper practices that follow.
Yoga through Postures, or asanas, forms an integral part of our retreat. These postures are drawn from various yoga traditions, including Hatha and Ashtanga. Each asana is carefully selected to calm the mind and promote stillness, either directly or indirectly. Asanas practiced at Swara Yoga School include Tadasana, Vrikshasana, the invigorating postures of Surya Namaskar, the grounding Trikonasana, and the ultimate relaxation stance, Savasana. Through these revitalizing postures, participants restore equilibrium to their mind, body, and soul.
The journey culminates with Yoga through Meditation, offered in various forms such as sound meditation, music meditation, object-focused meditation, and body-traveling meditation. These practices aim to enhance concentration, increase mindfulness, and induce deep relaxation. At Swara Yoga School, we believe that Yoga through Breathing acts as a warm-up, Yoga through Postures serves as preparation, and Yoga through Meditation completes the rejuvenation process for our yogis.
All three styles of yoga, coupled with an essential Ayurvedic diet, create a holistic journey. Your typical day includes two yoga classes and meditation, while the unique opportunity to consult with our instructors and Ayurvedic experts outside sessions ensures a personalized dietary and yoga plan. Small retreat groups prioritize individual needs, fostering a holistic approach.
